Electronic Arts (EA) Stock Trades Up, Here Is Why
What Happened? Shares of video game publisher Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) jumped 3.2% in the morning session after the company received a vote of confidence from Wall Street. Analyst Alicia Reese at Wedbush reaffirmed an "Outperform" rating on the stock. An "Outperform" rating suggests the analyst believes the stock will achieve returns superior to the broader market average. After the initial pop the shares cooled down to $157.36, up 2.6% from previous close. Is now the time to buy Electronic Arts? Access our full analysis report here, it's free. What Is The Market Telling Us Electronic Arts's shares are not very volatile and have only had 3 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful, although it might not be something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business. The biggest move we wrote about over the last year was 6 months ago when the stock dropped 18.8% on the news that the company reported disappointing preliminary Q3 2025 results, revealing sluggish growth. EA expected a mid-single-digit decline in live services bookings, a stark reversal from its earlier forecast of mid-single-digit growth. Net revenue was also expected to clock in at $1.883 billion, closer to the lower end of its previous guidance range of approximately $1.875 billion to $2.025 billion. The slowdown was attributed to weaker-than-expected performance in Global Football (football-related video games) and underwhelming engagement from titles like Dragon Age. Following the update, BMO downgraded the stock's rating, citing diminished visibility. The firm stated, "Despite the increasing strategic market value of Interactive Entertainment assets, we are downgrading EA to Market Perform and reducing estimates and Target Price to $145." Bank of America followed suit, downgrading the stock to Neutral, expressing doubts about EA's ability to defend its market share. Electronic Arts is up 7.9% since the beginning of the year, and at $157.36 per share, it is trading close to its 52-week high of $167.97 from November 2024. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Electronic Arts's shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $1,138. Unless you've been living under a rock, it should be obvious by now that generative AI is going to have a huge impact on how large corporations do business. While Nvidia and AMD are trading close to all-time highs, we prefer a lesser-known (but still profitable) semiconductor stock benefiting from the rise of AI. Jude Bellingham revealed on EA Sports FC 26 cover alongside childhood friend - as he is named front and centre of popular franchise AGAIN
Jude Bellingham has been named as one of the two cover stars for EA Sports FC26. In a sign of the Real Madrid star's global celebrity, this is the second year running that he features front and centre of the franchise's promotional material. This year, however, he will share the limelight with one of his old pals from the England youth teams - Bayern Munich 's Jamal Musiala, who now plays for Germany. The new game will launch worldwide on September 26 with an overhauled gameplay experience, including a new dimension in manager career mode called Manager Live, refined gameplay fundamentals, and new live events and tournament modes for Ultimate Team. Bellingham, 22, said: 'It's really nice to share this moment with Jamal, as a reflection of how far we've come. I remember our times rooming together in the England Youth team, we'd play the game all the time. 'Where I'm from, everyone knows the game, everyone plays it and talks about it so much. I'm grateful to be given the opportunity to be on the cover again.' Musiala, also 22, added: 'When I found out I'd be on the cover of FC, it was such a crazy feeling. I thought, how could I tell my little brother? He's a big fan of the game, so this will be a nice surprise for him. 'It's something I always wanted growing up and it's such a big part of football culture. Who knows, maybe I can still beat Jude at FC!' Despite starring on the cover of EA Sports FC26, the duo will have a delayed start to the 2025-26 season. Bellingham is expected to miss the start of the campaign after a successful surgery on his shoulder. Spanish media reported that he could be out for between two and three months. Meanwhile, Musiala is set to be out for several months after breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle at the Club World Cup. The 22-year-old sustained the horrific injuries after he collided with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in Bayern's quarter-final defeat by PSG.

Krafton Extends ‘Subnautica 2' Bonus Period, Is Sued by Founders
South Korean video game publisher Krafton Inc. plans to extend the schedule for a potential bonus payout at its subsidiary Unknown Worlds after delaying the highly anticipated survival game Subnautica 2 until next year. About 40 employees at Unknown Worlds were eligible to share a $25 million bonus, contingent upon the studio hitting certain revenue targets by the end of 2025, with a possible short-term extension. When Krafton said earlier this month that it planned to push back the game's release, employees feared that it wouldn't be possible to hit those targets and that their potential earnings would disappear.
